Common
Questions
Do
I have to purchase my memorial from the cemetery?
NO! - We unfortunately have heard
many times by our customers that they were lead to
believe they had to purchase from the cemetery. Usually
if a cemetery uses this method of sales they are charging
inflated prices to increase their profit. These are
usually the same people that try to rush you into
a decision. They know if you have the chance to price
compare you will make the purchase elsewhere. The
cemetery may charge a fee to allow you to purchase
and install a memorial with an external company but
the cost of the memorial plus the fee is generally
well below their price.
We have also heard on many more unfortunate occasions
that the cemetery has told someone if they do not
purchase from them and the monument gets damaged,
they are not responsible.
This is another unethical scare tactic to try and
persuade you to purchase your memorial from the cemetery.
The damage that occurs to memorials are almost always
caused by the equipment used by the cemetery and they
ARE 100% responsible for any damage
they cause. The monument is your property and anyone
including the cemetery is responsible for any damage
they cause to your property.
Is
there anything I need to ask the cemetery before purchasing
and installing the memorial?
Yes! Many cemeteries have specific rules
about type of marker that may be used, vases, and
decoration. Some also require that the caretaker be
there at the time of installation. If you are unsure
about the specifications of the cemetery you wish
to use, we will be glad to help you know who to contact
or get the information for you.
We realize these are just a few questions; we welcome
the opportunity to meet with you and discuss any other
questions you might have.
How
much do memorials cost?
The four primary factors that affect the
cost are: style, size, shape and color. We have adult
single one piece markers starting at $225 and adult
double one piece markers starting at $500. Single
two piece upright monuments starting at $375 and double
two piece uprights beginning at $675.
Some cemeteries require a concrete or granite border
and/or foundation for your memorial. In these cases
we will inform you any additional charges caused by
any special requirements.
How
much does the lettering cost?
Our prices always include names, dates, standard design,
delivery, installation as well as marriage dates,
emblems (military, fraternal, or other interests),
titles (beloved husband, beloved father, etc..). There
is a minimal additional charge for extra inscription
such as epitaphs, poems, etc.
Are
there any "extra" charges?
We will give you a total price that includes
the memorial, tax and the foundation. The most common
items purchased in addition to the memorial are flower
vases and various lettering on the back. There are
never any "surprise" charges after your
purchase is made.
If the monument is made prior to need and the death
date inscription/inscriptions are not made at time
of installation, it will not be included in the purchase
price. This service can only be purchased and paid
at the time of the inscription since this usually
occurs years after the original purchase.
How
much time should I expect to wait for the delivery
of my order?
In most cases delivery will be four to six weeks from
the time of signing contract.
